Description
Join us for an inspiring afternoon of leadership, connection, and celebration at the Annual Leadership Luncheon, proudly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Wylie. This signature event honors the accomplishments of the Leadership Wylie Class of 2026 featuring our keynote speaker Brian Dameris.
Brian Dameris is an Emmy Award-winning broadcast analyst for the Dallas Mavericks. He serves as the color commentator for radio broadcasts and appears as a TV analyst on the team's pregame and postgame studio shows. He co-hosts the weekly podcast Take Dat Wit You and writes monthly for D Magazine.
As Director of Basketball Development with the Mavericks, Brian launched the NBA's first analytics department in 2002. He also oversaw the annual Global Games basketball tournament and played a key role in the team's international development efforts.
Brian began his career in 1995 as the fifth employee at Broadcast.com. He spearheaded the company's Initial Public Offering in 1998, which opened with a then-record performance on Wall Street. As head of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group, he completed three acquisitions before the company's sale to Yahoo! for $5.8 billion in April 1999.
He went on to work closely with Mark Cuban on his investment portfolio, consulting with companies featured on ABC's Shark Tank.
Brian has served on the Board of the Dallas International Film Festival, is a member of The Dallas Assembly, and is a graduate of Leadership Dallas. Outside of business, he performed for many years as a stand-up comedian, including at Los Angeles' legendary Comedy Store.
Brian is a graduate of Baylor University and earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University.
