About Us

New Hope began as a dream shared by Keith and Susan Spurgin—a church where anyone, regardless of their past, could find love, acceptance, and hope. After serving in Hong Kong, the Spurgins returned to Texas and, with three families, committed to reaching the Wylie community. What started as a small prayer group grew into a movement of people passionate about sharing God’s love.

On January 3, 1999, New Hope held its first service in The Wylie Opry. It wasn’t flashy—but lives were being transformed. As the church grew, it moved to Birmingham Elementary and eventually built its own home, now housing Hope Rising Preschool and serving the community in countless ways.

At New Hope, we live by three values: Love God, Create Community, and Engage the World. We aren’t about perfection—we’re about people. A church for the church-less, we welcome the broken, the hurting, and the searching. No matter your story, you are known and loved here.

Join us for worship! Services are Sundays at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM, featuring powerful worship, biblical teaching, and real connection.

New Hope Kids provides a safe, fun space for children newborn through 6th grade to grow in faith.

New Hope Youth inspires Christ-like change through community, fun, and biblical truth. Students in 7th-12th grade meet Wednesdays from 6:30-8:15 PM and during both Sunday services.
